1 April 2018
We have added the Ashkenazi transliteration option to our site.
The words you see in the dictionary and in search are shown in the pronunciation typical for Ashkenazi Hebrew. For example, שַׁבָּת shabat is rendered as shabos, מִשְׁפָּחָה mishpacha is shown as mishpocha, and שָׁלוֹם shalom is shown as sholoym. We will make a more extended post about different Hebrew pronunciations shortly.
Note that we don't put stress (unlike shown above) into the words, as the stress rules may differ in Ashkenazi Hebrew depending on context, epoch and community. We also don't change the Latin transliteration in posts like this one.
You can turn the Hebrew transliteration off by selecting More... / Settings in the top menu and changing the Latin transliteration to "Off" or "Modern Israeli". Tomorrow, it will be turned off automatically.
Sorry for the inconveniences and wish you a pleasant 1st of April and Pesach!
