The גְּבִיעַ הָאַלּוּפוֹת gvia ha-alufot "Champions League" is in full swing! A couple of words that may be relevant:
First off, לְשַׂחֵק lesachek means "to play". Both in the sense "to play a game" and "to play on stage, in a film, etc". A game is מִשְׂחָק mischak. A player will be שַׂחְקָן sachkan; the same word means "actor". The female counterpart is שַׂחְקָנִית sachkanit.
"Football" is כַּדּוּרֶגֶל kaduregel, from כַּדּוּר kadur "ball" and רֶגֶל regel "leg, foot".

A football player is כַּדּוּרַגְלָן kaduraglan or שַׁחְקָן כַּדּוּרֶגֶל sachkan kaduregel.
